Who handles your data
hormonalcysticacne.com is run as an independent site and is the party responsible for the personal data described here. For any question, write to privacy@hormonalcysticacne.com.
Information we collect
- Visit statistics: pages you view, the referring page, time on page and scroll depth, the links and buttons you use, and general device details such as screen size, browser language and time zone.
- Your ticks in the four-sign check: the result is calculated in your browser and is never sent to us.
- Hosting logs: our host keeps IP addresses, browser types and requested pages for security and uptime.
How the statistics travel
Your browser sends statistics to an address on this site, /api/mark-view, which passes them on to an analytics provider (EU) storing data on servers in the European Union. Your IP address goes with them so an approximate location (country and city) can be estimated. One visit is held together by a random code in session storage that is erased when you close the tab, so different visits stay unlinked. No statistics cookies are used. For visitors in the EU, nothing is counted until "Allow" is chosen.
The analysis link
"Start my analysis" and the other analysis buttons go through hormonalcysticacne.com/cyst-check to acne.today, a separate paid service. The link tells acne.today which site and button sent you, and the result of the four-sign check if you used it. Whatever you give acne.today, including photos, answers and payment, is covered by its own privacy policy.
Why we are allowed to
- Statistics about EU visitors: your consent. Change it whenever you like through "Statistics choice" at the foot of the home page.
- Statistics about everyone else and hosting logs: our legitimate interest in keeping the site safe and useful.
- Your emails: answering what you ask.

Retention
Hosting logs are kept for 90 days at most. Emails are kept only as long as needed to help you, never more than two years.
Recipients
The analytics provider and the host, each limited to what it needs. We do not sell data.
Your rights
You may ask for access, correction, deletion or a portable copy of your data, ask for its use to be limited, or object to its use. Email privacy@hormonalcysticacne.com; we reply within four weeks. You may also complain to the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens (the Dutch data protection authority) or to your own regulator.
Changes to this notice
If this notice changes, so does the date above.
